The first paper mill will install GPSTimber

It is not only the sawmills in Sweden, Norway, Austria and Romania that are showing an interest in GPSTimber.

“It’s just as exciting to report that we now have our first paper mill customer. It is Stora Enso’s paper mill in Skutskär that has become the first to purchase GPSTimber. I believe this is a result of Stora Enso Group’s very positive experiences of our installations at its sawmills here in Sweden as well as abroad,” says Lennart Landström, Head of Sales for GPSTimber.

In truth, it is almost exactly the same system as the one we use at the sawmills. A few changes to the truck drivers’ interface on their computer screens is probably the biggest visible difference.

“The installation is in full swing and it will all be operational later in the autumn. It will undoubtedly be exciting to follow the development at Skutskär, as this is a prestigious order we won in tough competition with another systems supplier that has long dominated the paper side. But I already know that more paper mills have realised the benefits we offer,” concludes Lennart Landström.
